Based in Auckland, Summer joined the Humes team in July 2024, bringing with her five years of experience in the civil construction industry, primarily as a contractor specialising in drainage works.
Her background as a Quantity Surveyor for drainage projects has given her a solid understanding of materials and project requirements and means she can help customers accurately price their jobs.
“As an estimator, I provide customers with reliable and accurate material pricing, which helps them plan effectively and make informed decisions. I also try to anticipate their needs, ensuring they are well-prepared for every stage of their project,” she explains.
“A day typically involves preparing a large volume of accurate and detailed quotes for contractors. I focus on understanding their project needs and planning ahead to ensure they receive precise pricing and the best solutions for their projects.”
Summer says she enjoys her work at Humes. “Even though it’s a busy role, it’s incredibly rewarding to know that I’m helping our customers achieve better project outcomes through accurate material supply and forward-thinking solutions,” she says.
